The Image Editor is responsible to reviewing every image created in the studio by a team of staff photographers. The focus of the job is to prepare the images for publication to one or more of our various ecommerce sites. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining quality assurance for offshore retouching services. Any additional required corrections will need to be made using advanced Photoshop techniques such as clipping paths, balancing backgrounds, eliminating unwanted imperfections, wrinkles, dust and rigging tools. The technical ability of this associate will provide the critical consistency of all images. This associate will also maintain the image database that resides in the studio and prepare image transfers to production applications. The environment is extremely fast paced by photography standards with an average item count over 50 items/bay for fashion and 30-40 items/bay for still life.

Scope and Responsibilities:

• Provide image retouching to prepare items for web publications

.• Developing high quality and cutting-edge ecommerce imagery.

• Thorough knowledge of computer imaging, photographic techniques and color composition

• Should be able to do Image Correction, Color Correction, Clipping, Masking, Cropping, Retouching, Resizing, Model Retouching, Colorization, Image Manipulation and background removal / changes.

• Solid experience with digital technology and photo editing software packages (e.g. Photoshop, Pixlr, Affinity Photo, Visual Basic, Graphics, Audio Editing, Adobe Creative Suite etc.)

• Working knowledge of masking, layers, alpha channels and color space, etc

.• Strong technical knowledge relevant to typical e-commerce environment

• Knowledge of current Mac and Windows operating systems

• Follow defined processes accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate file data across multiple computer applications

• Accountable for timely delivery of images

• Collaboration with team leadership to achieve highest possible productivity while maintaining quality output

• Timely and clear communication on project status, opportunities, and trends

• Proven work experience as a photo/Image editor

• Strong photo editing skills and excellent portfolio

Basic Skills and Experience:

• Creative mind with an eye for detail and storytelling skills

• Visually precise, detail oriented, and deadline driven

• Knowledge of color theory, principles of design, composition• Ability to work on-call in a fast paced, high volume and repetitive workflow, on as-needed basis. Not a programmed schedule.

• Able to follow client supplied guidelines ensuring excellence in quality, quantity and consistency.

• Ability to work well within a team environment• To ensure all tasks are delivered to on time

• Should be Smart and Proactive

• Strong analytical and reporting skills

• Photography will be a plus.
